Most outstanding players and performances of the EPT’s fourth season will be announced on September 09th, 2008. The Awards ceremony is to be held in Barcelona on the eve of the opening event of Season 5.
There are seven nominations announced, including two categories in which the voting is open either to the general public or to all EPT accredited media. One of the open categories is the People's Choice Award, which, according to EPT, is the public's chance to pick any player who competed in EPT Season 4, and vote for them to win this special award. Another open category is the Poker Writers Award allowing accredited writers to vote for any EPT Season 4 interesting and attractive player upon their choice. Voting in these two categories remains open till August 29th, 2008.
Remaining five categories, all concerning EPT Season 4 play, are: Best Newcomer, Best Performance, Best Overseas Player, Best PokerStars Qualifier, and Player of the Year. The nominees will be announced in the near future, and the choice is to be made by the panel of four judges, all of them internationally known poker and media professionals. |
