Ho in Support of Macau Casino Industry Slow Down
Stanley Ho, best known as a casino magnate has supported local authorities of Macau in their plans to cut the casino industry development in the city for the purpose of ceasing fierce competition between casino operators.  As a Director of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM), he said that the decision was the result of the Central Government’s concerns over the recent development of the gaming industry in Macau. Ho fully backed the authorities’ move saying that Macau has come to have too many casinos, so it would be more than unreasonable to still increase their number.
Currently there are six gaming operators in Macau having outrageous competition between. Ho said there is no reason for such a fight since there enough room for all of them. He went on to add that instead of fighting operators ought to think about other more vital gaming sections problems.
Ho pointed that SJM will have to push forward its Macau peninsula project, which might include the expansion of the Jai Alai casino. Still, the company is no longer intended to work on its original Oceanus project that included the New Yaohan department store and a ferry terminal for the outer harbour. Ho hopes to get Government’s full support in this matter.
